Getting bored in relationships is something like a lot of relationships face. Eventually, the relationship has a set routine and is too orientated, very much predictable. It is very important that you try to keep your relationship as fun as possible but also include fun activities in the relationship. If you are currently experiencing boredom in a relationship and don’t want the relationship to go downhill, we have something that might help.

Before delving into how you can get out of your boring phase, you have to understand that this was all a part of a relationship. Relationships have different stages and the most they become the more likely they are to fall into an unexciting phase as well. Of course, each relationship is different and that might be hinting at a larger issue than just for them but that’s something you have to check with your partner.

What does it mean when you’re getting bored in relationships?

As stated above boredom in relationships is completely normal. At the beginning of the relationship, you are both very excited to meet somebody knew you cannot believe the idea of such a great thing going on for the both of you that it is full of excitement and fire. Continuously there is something that you both keep looking forward to as the relationship progresses. It could be things such as your first sleepover, the first time you guys have sex in a relationship, meeting your family for the first time, etc. There has always been an exciting step that you guys were taking in the relationship.

Once there aren’t any more exciting steps the relationship sort of settled down in a way. At this point, you have to look at a relationship the way you look at your sibling relationship. You may love your siblings do but of course, you need some time away from them, of course, you get bored with them sometimes and of course, you fight. Anything that you may do for yourself does not necessarily mean you don’t love your sibling right? The same goes for relationships that allow each other to have a sibling-like relationship.

In this way, you know very much your partner loves you and you know that if you guys get bored of it and it’s completely fine. This also helps to decrease large expectations in the relationship like never getting bored of each other. It’s a lot more realistic for your relationship. With that being said let’s get into what to do when you are getting bored in a relationship?

What to do when you’re getting bored in relationships?

Now we understand getting bored as part of the relationship what do we do to get out of this funk with your partner. There are a few schools that eventually lead to a relationship being exciting again. In realistic terms, you have to understand that your relationship can not be as exciting as it was at first because that time was also filled with lust and infatuation. Here is what to do when you’re getting bored in relationships:

Talk to your partner about it

Most of the time when a problem arises that you notice in a relationship 8 out of 10 times your partner has not noticed. People settle into relationships differently, some people are ok the boredom as it’s completely normal for some people. For others, it can be uncomfortable. Communicate with your partner about how bored you have been feeling and find a way to bring the spark back into your relationship in your own way.

Make plans weekly or monthly

If you want the same kind of excitement he had at the beginning of the relationship try making fun plans for every week or every month. This way you continuously have something to look forward to. Make sure that these plants are different and inclusive to out-of-the-box ideas you two may have. Some great examples would be planning a getaway in a hotel just for sex, having date nights at different restaurants, game nights etc.

Give each other space

The thing that may be causing you to grow bored of the relationship or just you getting bored of the relationship is spending too much time together. This is how your relationship becomes a lot more routined. Simply giving each other space may open up the romantic energy and the sense to really want to be around you and make plans with you again. When you see someone every day you are not as enthusiastic as you would usually be.

Does getting bored mean break-up?

Yes and no. this is all relative to your relationship and how your relationship has been going. In some cases, the relationship has simply just settled down and is taking its steady pace. In other cases, this is where either one or both parties in a relationship realise that they were not with them for love but maybe for infatuation. The best thing to do is to communicate with your partner about where your relationship is done openly speak up about your fears. You may be feeling like the relationship is too serious and want to double back because you’re interested in fun or maybe your partner may want that. Regardless it is a sign of heavy commitment-phobia and you would need to take it slow. If that’s not the case your relationship is moving at a great pace and is leading to a long-lasting relationship.
