How does polyamory work?
There are different ways in which the relationship may be approached. Not one approach will work for everyone, relationships are different for a reason. Here are a few ways polyamory work:
As an open relationship
Labelling it as an open relationship where you and your partner may date and be intimate with other partners. At times this could stand for a third party joining their relationship and also being intimate with them both.
This is when a person who isn’t exclusively dating expresses their polyamory desires. One person would be intimate with several partners.
Normally, there would be one main person. The one a polyamorous partner to be their primary partner. the one that is prioritized most. The others come after the main partner and usually have a set of rules and/or boundaries that revolve around the relationship with the main partner.
In this situation everyone is equal and the same boundaries apply to everyone. There is no ranking or favouritism given out. Each of the partners looks at each other as equals.
